Synopsis
Powerless is set in the Kingdom of Ilya, where society is divided between Elites, survivors of a plague left with supernatural powers, and Ordinaries, who are hunted on the belief that their presence weakens Elite abilities. The story follows Paedyn Gray, an eighteen-year-old Ordinary hiding her true nature, who saves the life of Kai Azer, the kingdom's youngest prince and a Wielder capable of sensing and absorbing other Elites' powers. Her act earns her public recognition as the "Silver Savior" and, unexpectedly, a place among the Elites chosen for the kingdom's dangerous annual Purging Trials, a competition meant to determine the strongest among them. Posing as a Psychic Elite to avoid discovery and execution, Paedyn must survive the brutal trials while concealing her identity, all as her path becomes increasingly entangled with Kai's.
