Synopsis
Princeps continues Quaeryt's story soon after his elevation to the position of Princeps of Tilbor, a rank he has begun to settle into alongside his marriage to Vaelora, sister of Lord Bhayar. Their situation is upended when a volcanic eruption devastates Extela, the former ancient capital of Telaryn, and Quaeryt is assigned as the new governor of the ruined city. He and Vaelora must work quickly to restore order to a place gripped by chaos and corruption in the eruption's aftermath, even as the military regiment under Quaeryt's temporary command must prepare to leave their post to defend the kingdom's borders from a neighboring ruler who sees the disaster as an opportunity to expand his own territory.
