Synopsis
The third and concluding novel of the Raven's Shadow trilogy opens with Queen Lyrna, having survived near-fatal injuries suffered in the previous book, working to rebuild her strength and rally allies, including practitioners of forbidden Dark gifts, to drive the occupying Volarian army out of her devastated realm. The Volarians have brought more than soldiers: they are guided by a mysterious figure said to grant extended life and loyalty to those who serve it, a power that has let their empire expand unchecked. Vaelin Al Sorna, now serving as Battle Lord, is tasked with confronting this new and unfamiliar threat, but finds himself troubled when his blood-song, the mystical instinct that has guided and protected him throughout his life, unexpectedly falls silent just as the stakes for the Realm reach their highest point.
