Synopsis
Redoubt is the fourth book of the Collegium Chronicles, continuing Mags's Herald duties amid deepening political intrigue. Now working openly as a spy for Nikolas, Mags becomes the direct target of an unknown and mysterious enemy. He is kidnapped, and discovers that his captors have somehow blocked his magical communication abilities, cutting him off from the allies who would normally come to his aid. Forced to escape on his own, he journeys through dangerous territory and crosses paths with both demonic threats and unexpected allies among Karsite priests. His captors let slip fragments of information about his parents, suggesting that the enemies pursuing him are connected to his own hidden origins, and Mags is left trying to piece together why he has become such a valuable target while multiple factions circle him.
