Synopsis
Since fleeing Winternest to avoid King Hablet's wrath, Rakaia has been living a borrowed life, while the slave who took her place faces the consequences of the deception in the Fardohnyan court. The gods' quarrel over the stolen lyre widens: Kalianah's loss unbalances the Primal Gods, and the demon child R'shiel, who once destroyed a god, finds that the task of restoring the balance may fall to her again, with the Harshini and the human kingdoms as the board on which the gods play. The second novel of the War of the Gods trilogy, the sequel to The Lyre Thief; the third, Covenant, has been announced but not yet published, and the series is registered as in progress.
