Synopsis
Return of the Crimson Guard is the second Novel of the Malazan Empire, taking place in the aftermath of the events of Erikson's The Bonehunters. The legendary mercenary company known as the Crimson Guard returns to the Malazan heartland of Quon Tali at what may be the worst possible moment for the Empire's already weakened defenses, bringing with it a century-old vow of undying opposition to everything the Malazan Empire has ever stood for, and the resources, discipline, and battle-hardened veterans needed to make good on that old, unforgiving promise against an empire already stretched dangerously thin on every front it is fighting on.
