Synopsis
Rhythm of War picks up some time after Oathbringer on the world of Roshar, with the tower stronghold of Urithiru under threat as the Fused and their singer allies press their advance in the ongoing war against the god-like being Odium. Dalinar seeks answers from Ishar, one of the ancient Heralds, while trying to find a way to end the escalating conflict without further bloodshed. Navani, caught inside Urithiru as enemy forces close in, uncovers new magical knowledge while working to keep the tower's people safe. Kaladin, struggling under the war's toll on his mind, is relieved of duty but remains central to the resistance forming around him. Shallan and Adolin travel into the spirit realm of Shadesmar to resolve old hostilities with the honorspren, and the singer Venli quietly works against her own people's leaders as the stakes for both sides rise.
