Synopsis
Marseille, late sixteenth century. The Catholic city has risen against Henri IV, a former Protestant, and claims an independence the king cannot accept, while the Wars of Religion still tear France apart. In a tavern called La Roue de Fortune, several people try to leave their pasts behind or brace for an uncertain future. A worn-out knight has changed trades. An old woman runs the local guild of assassins. A pair of magicians in love are on the run. The owner, a former mercenary, is trying to earn a living without a weapon in her hand. As the siege politics close in on the port, the tavern becomes the place where their paths cross and the mistral rises.
