Synopsis
Gwen's life has been a rollercoaster since she discovered she was the Ruby, the twelfth and final member of the secret time-travelling Circle of Twelve. In between searching through history for the other time travellers and asking for a bit of their blood, she has been trying to work out what all the mysteries and prophecies surrounding the Circle really mean. At least she has plenty of help: her best friend Lesley follows every lead diligently on the internet, James the ghost teaches her how to fit in at an eighteenth-century party, and Xemerius, the gargoyle demon who has been following her since he caught her kissing Gideon in a church, offers advice on everything. And there is Gideon, the Diamond, whose fate seems bound with hers: one minute warm, the next freezing cold. The second book of Kerstin Gier's time-travel trilogy, published in English as Sapphire Blue.

English translations by Anthea Bell: Ruby Red (2011), Sapphire Blue (2012), Emerald Green (2013).
