Synopsis

Sea of Swords, the fourth and final book of the Paths of Darkness series, follows Drizzt Do'Urden, Wulfgar, and their ally Robillard from the Sea Sprite as they set out to recover Wulfgar's enchanted warhammer, Aegis-fang, stolen and sold off in an earlier adventure. Their journey begins in Waterdeep, where the companions first act to protect Wulfgar's new wife, Delly Curtie, from an attempted attack, before turning their attention to the hunt itself. The trail leads them to the pirate Sheila Kree, who now wields Aegis-fang as a symbol of her authority and has allied herself with a clan of ogres operating from a hidden cave stronghold.

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings and are never conflated: a book's place in one says nothing about its place in the other.
