Synopsis

Two hidden artefacts have been found; three remain unrecovered, and more preserves face destruction as the Society of the Evening Star relentlessly pursues the talismans that together unlock the great demon prison. Reading in Patton Burgess's Journal of Secrets, Kendra learns the location of the key to a vault housing one of the artefacts. To retrieve it, the Knights of the Dawn must enter a death trap: Wyrmroost, a dragon sanctuary where the most dangerous of all magical creatures live free and visitors are a dragon's lawful prey. The mission cannot even begin without stealing a sacred object zealously guarded by the centaurs of Fablehaven, and Seth, as ever, has plans of his own. To survive Wyrmroost and claim the artefact before the Evening Star, the brother and sister will have to learn to trust their new magical abilities, and each other.

  • From the series record (Fablehaven): Brandon Mull's bestselling middle-grade series: siblings Kendra and Seth Sorenson discover that their grandfather is caretaker of Fablehaven, a hidden preserve for magical creatures, and are drawn into the race between the Knights of the Dawn and the Society of the Evening Star for the five artefacts that unlock the demon prison Zzyzx.

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings and are never conflated: a book's place in one says nothing about its place in the other.
