Synopsis
Shadow Games follows the diminished Black Company as it travels south from the Tower at Charm through Opal and Gea-Xle toward the Shadowlands, still led by Croaker as captain and annalist alongside the now-mortal former sorceress the Lady, wizards Goblin and One-Eye, and veterans Otto and Hagop. Their goal is Khatovar, the long-lost birthplace of the Free Companies and the Black Company's own point of origin, a quest that has driven them since the loss of most of their comrades. The road south instead leads them into the orbit of Taglios, a city under threat from the Shadowmasters, sorcerers whose power has made them the region's dominant menace.
