Synopsis
The Silver Spike, set apart from the Company's own ongoing chronicle, opens after the group has splintered and former members have gone their separate ways following earlier upheavals in the north. Its central concern is the Dominator, a wizard of such power that he could not be killed outright, whose malevolent essence was instead sealed inside an artifact called the silver spike. Three factions converge on this prize: a band of opportunistic spike hunters led by Tully and Smeds Stahl, alongside Old Man Fish and Timmy Locan; the White Rose rebellion, led by Darling and including the wizard Silent and the aged Bomanz, former Company associates; and agents of the Northern Empire, among them Brigadier Wildbrand and imperial wizards, all seeking to seize or destroy the spike before its dormant evil can be unleashed again.
