Synopsis
She and Allan brings H. Rider Haggard's two most famous characters together for the first time, as the hunter and adventurer Allan Quatermain sets out for the lost city ruled by the immortal sorceress Ayesha, already familiar to readers from the earlier Ayesha novels. Quatermain undertakes the expedition in the hope that Ayesha's supernatural powers can help him make contact with the spirit of a woman he lost, drawing him deep into unfamiliar and dangerous territory controlled by her people. The novel is set earlier in Ayesha's history than the original She, giving Quatermain's famously skeptical, practical narration a chance to test itself directly against the immortal queen's uncanny authority and the perils of the hidden realm she rules, as the series' two separate adventuring traditions intersect for the first time.
