Synopsis

Silence Fallen continues the Mercy Thompson series when Mercy is abducted during a routine evening out and wakes up imprisoned, confronted by vampires who reveal the identity of the person behind her kidnapping. She escapes by shifting into her coyote form, only to discover that her captors have taken her not just out of the Tri-Cities but across the ocean into Europe, leaving her stranded without resources, allies, or her mate bond with Adam. Forced to rely on her own resourcefulness in unfamiliar territory, Mercy must navigate an unfamiliar supernatural landscape while trying to find a way home. Meanwhile, Adam and the pack work back in Washington to uncover why she was taken and to coordinate a rescue, and the narrative follows both Mercy's struggle to survive abroad and the pack's efforts to reach her, exposing hidden layers of vampire and werewolf politics along the way.

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings and are never conflated: a book's place in one says nothing about its place in the other.

  • Internal chronology, within Mercy Thompson / Alpha and Omega: position 16 of 20: previous Fire Touched (2016) · next Storm Cursed (2019)
