Synopsis
Small Favor is the tenth novel, opening a year after White Night as Harry Dresden is ambushed by gruff mercenaries working for the Summer Court, a warning sign that supernatural politics are shifting against him. Winter Queen Mab calls in an old debt, ordering Dresden to find crime lord John Marcone after his headquarters is destroyed and he goes missing. Dresden discovers Marcone has been taken by the Denarians, a group of fallen angels bound to coins of betrayal, and assembles a team including Knight of the Cross Michael Carpenter and the neutral arbiter known as the Archive to track him down before the Denarians can use him for their own ends. Their leader, Nicodemus, has further designs on abducting the Archive herself, forcing Dresden to juggle rescue, negotiation and open confrontation with some of the deadliest beings he has faced.

Notes
- From the series record (The Dresden Files): 18-novel main sequence (2000-2026, ongoing), narrated throughout by wizard-detective Harry Dresden. Publication order equals in-story chronological order for the entire main sequence. Peace Talks and Battle Ground (both 2020) were originally written as a single novel that grew too long and was split into two by the publisher, released 2.5 months apart, a genuine bibliographic quirk, not a numbering error. A 19th novel (Mirror Mirror) is announced for 2027 but unpublished and is not registered.

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings, but they resolve to the exact same sequence for this book, so one combined line is shown instead of two identical ones.
