Synopsis

Sojourn, the sixth book by internal chronology of The Legend of Drizzt and the concluding volume of the Dark Elf Trilogy, picks up after Drizzt Do'Urden has spent more than forty years surviving alone in the Underdark following his exile from Menzoberranzan. Recognizing that his continued isolation endangers both himself and anyone unlucky enough to cross his path, Drizzt at last makes his way to the surface world, a place he has never known. There he is taken in and trained as a ranger by a blind mentor named Montolio, who helps him hone the skills and philosophy that will define his later life.

Notes

  • The Dark Elf Trilogy #3
  • From the series record (The Legend of Drizzt (author line)): R.A. Salvatore's 40-novel line (1988-2025), incl. The Sellswords; sub-series recorded per book. Continues with Drizzt's daughter (2025-).

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings and are never conflated: a book's place in one says nothing about its place in the other.

  • Publication order, within the series The Legend of Drizzt (author line): position 6 of 40: previous Exile (1990) · next The Legacy (1992)
