Synopsis
In the fourth novel the world of the hidden cities is changing. The skies that were concealed from view are disappearing, and dreams turn into traps for those who sleep. In London, two powerful houses join together, which shifts the balance of power. Far away, in the depths beneath New York, Scarlet Hawthorne and the gruff alchemist Wittgenstein come upon a secret that will alter all of the ancient metropolises. The story widens from London to other cities and follows several characters from the earlier books whose paths cross as the danger grows.
