Synopsis
As Roland's group nears the Tower, Susannah finds herself partially trapped within her own mind by Mia, a former demon now inhabiting her body as a heavily pregnant woman carrying a child meant for dark purposes. Using a magical door, Susannah-Mia slips away to New York City in 1999, forcing the ka-tet to split in pursuit. Jake, the loyal creature Oy, and Father Callahan follow Susannah-Mia into 1999 to try to reach her before the Crimson King's forces do, while Roland and Eddie travel to 1977 Maine to secure ownership of the vacant lot containing the rose they believe protects the Dark Tower. Along the way the group discovers an unsettling link between their own story and a writer in Roland's version of Maine, deepening the sense that outside forces are entangled with their fate as they race to save Susannah and the rose.
