Synopsis
Twins Owen and Lily Winter live alone in a large house in Little Moor, a quiet English hamlet, since their mother's death. They have always sensed that they are different from their neighbours, though they cannot say why. Into this settled life comes Peverel Othman, a stranger who is searching for something, or someone, and whose search ends when he finds the twins. Peverel is one of the Grigori, an ancient race with powers and senses that ordinary people lack, and his arrival draws the twins towards a hidden history of fallen angels and of the Nephilim, the children angels fathered with human women. As the new millennium approaches, the Grigori are waking again, and the Winters find their home, their village and their sense of who they are beginning to change.
