Synopsis
Peverel Othman, a rogue among the Anakim, has been reborn as Shemyaza, the fallen angel king, and he begins to gather followers for a final struggle over the future of humanity. Together with his brother Salamiel and his human vizier Daniel, he travels east towards Eden, joining rebel freedom fighters along the way. In Babylon, a new king who believes he is descended from angels frees an imprisoned Watcher Lord and sends djinn out to hunt Shemyaza. Elsewhere, an assassin has been given the task of killing him. As these separate threads draw closer, the old angelic rivalries and the plans of the Grigori begin to bear on the lives of ordinary people in the modern world.
