Synopsis

Stiletto picks up after the events of The Rook, as the Checquy Group enters into uneasy peace negotiations with the Grafters, a rival Belgian organization with a history of bitter conflict between the two sides. Odette Leliefeld, a young descendant of the Grafters' leadership, travels to Britain to take part in the talks, and Checquy Rook Myfanwy Thomas assigns Pawn Felicity Clements, pulled from a coveted post on an assault team, to serve as Odette's bodyguard despite the deep mutual hostility between their organizations. As the two women are forced into each other's company, a series of unexplained supernatural attacks begins striking the negotiations, threatening to unravel the fragile peace before Odette and Felicity can even learn to trust one another.

Notes

  • From the series record (The Checquy Files): A paranormal secret-agency series (a British government body that polices supernatural threats), in the same urban/secret-history fantasy mode this canon already admits for Rivers of London and Ninth House. Four books published 2012-2025; no announced conclusion, treated as in_progress.
