Synopsis
Concluding the Alliance of Light story arc within The Wars of Light and Shadow, this eighth volume centers on Lysaer's army of Light laying siege to the great citadel of Alestron, plunging Arithon, the Master of Shadow, into a crisis on multiple fronts at once. Arithon learns that Jeynsa s'Valerient, a young woman under his protection, has joined the citadel's defenders, while a failed rescue attempt leaves Elaira, the healer he loves, his double Fionn Areth, and the spellbinder Dakar all trapped within Alestron's besieged walls alongside her. Beyond the immediate military crisis, the true intentions of the Koriani enchantresses begin to come into focus, as their Prime Matriarch is revealed to be pursuing a prize far greater than mere survival or victory, hinting at consequences that will outlast the siege itself.
