Synopsis

The seventh volume of The Wars of Light and Shadow follows on from Arithon's costly victory over Lysaer's Alliance of Light against overwhelming odds, a triumph that leaves the wider conflict more dangerous rather than resolved. Within the Alliance's own ranks, a corrupted faction of its priesthood begins plotting to enslave Lysaer and exploit the Mistwraith's lingering curse to unravel Athera's magical order entirely, even as the Fellowship of Seven sorcerers face severe threats of their own and the forest clans reel from devastating losses already suffered. Rather than continue the cycle of warfare the curse keeps forcing upon him, Arithon, the Master of Shadow, commits himself to an unprecedented and dangerous path of nonviolence, holding what may be the world's last real hope even as both his allies and his enemies muster for a war whose full consequences none of them yet grasp.
