Synopsis
Picking up soon after the events of Witchmark, Stormsong follows Dame Grace Hensley, who is thrust into the role of chancellor of Aeland at a moment of national crisis, as the country reels from ongoing war, a magical power system on the verge of collapse, and the arrival of the powerful and ancient Amaranthines, who demand accountability for Aeland's past crimes against them. Grace must work to stabilize her fractured nation, satisfy the Amaranthines' uncompromising demands for justice, and free the witches still unjustly imprisoned across the country, all while trying to prevent a catastrophe she knows she helped set in motion. Her efforts are complicated further by Avia Jessup, an ambitious investigative journalist pursuing the story of a lifetime even as she finds herself drawn to Grace, forcing both women to weigh personal feeling against duty and the secrets that still bind them.

Notes
- From the series record (The Kingston Cycle): The complete trilogy, published by Tor.com Publishing (2018-2020). A gaslamp/Edwardian-inspired secondary world recovering from a war modeled on WWI; a feminist, political narrative about the uprising of a repressed underclass, with a distinct queer romance and murder mystery in each volume. Internal chronology equals publication order; no dispute found. No companion short fiction or novellas set in this universe were found -- the trilogy is the entirety of the Core Canon.
