Synopsis
Gemma Ripley, crown princess of Andvari, is both a spy and a mind magier, and she is determined to stop an enemy who wants to use magical tearstone weapons to conquer her kingdom. At a trade summit, Queen Maeven of Morta invokes an old tradition that puts strain on the truce between the kingdoms. Gemma is drawn back into dealings with her rival, Prince Leonidas, and struggles with her growing feelings for him. Then a series of deadly attacks disrupts the summit, and Gemma realises that someone is trying to topple the royals from their thrones.
