Overview

Jennifer Estep's Crown of Shards world is a set of kingdoms, including Bellona, Andvari and Morta, where magical power decides rank and gladiator tradition is part of public life. The Crown of Shards trilogy (2018-2020) follows Everleigh Blair, a noblewoman with no visible magic who survives a royal massacre, trains with a gladiator troupe and becomes queen of Bellona. The Gargoyle Queen trilogy (2021-2023), set in the same world, follows Gemma Ripley, a princess of Andvari who is secretly a spy and mind magier and first appeared as a child in the first book. Both trilogies are complete.
