Synopsis
Nine months after the massacre that killed the queen of Bellona and much of her family, Everleigh Blair holds the throne herself. She is still being attacked by assassins from the rival kingdom of Morta, who wield strong magic. To secure an alliance she travels to the neighbouring kingdom of Andvari to negotiate a treaty. There she learns that Prince Dominic is also a target of the same enemies. Evie must work out how to protect him while coping with her unusual magic, her new duties as queen and her complicated romance with Lucas Sullivan.
