Synopsis
Someone is killing wizards without using magic, and Lord Darcy must find the killer and learn whether the murders are part of a plot against the king. The first victim, Master Raimun DePlessis, is found dead in a locked room. The investigation takes place while the court prepares for a royal investiture, which raises the pressure on Darcy and his colleague Sean O Lochlainn to solve the case quickly.
