Synopsis

The Amber Enchantress, published by Troy Denning in 1992, continues the Prism Pentad. Sadira, a powerful half-elf mage introduced in the earlier books, sets out to discover a means of defeating Borys, the Dragon of Athas, whose centuries-long reign of terror over the desert world has shaped the fates of every city-state under his shadow. Her search leads her toward the mysterious Pristine Tower, a place whose secrets may hold the key to standing against Borys, and forces her to confront the possibility of reconciling with her estranged elven father, whose past choices still shape her present difficulties. Navigating dangerous political intrigue, uncertain allies, and dark magic along the way, Sadira must decide how much of her own history she is willing to reckon with in order to find a way to challenge the Dragon.

Notes

  • From the series record (The Prism Pentad): A five-book tie-in fantasy sequence (1991-1993) set in the desert world of the Dark Sun tabletop setting, by the same author already credited elsewhere in this catalogue for a different tie-in setting.

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings, but they resolve to the exact same sequence for this book, so one combined line is shown instead of two identical ones.
