Synopsis

The second book of the Sandsea Trilogy picks up as Loulie al-Nazari and the banished prince Mazen bin Malik flee into the realm of the jinn, expecting to find refuge there. Instead they discover a realm in crisis: its cities are sinking, its political order is fracturing, and centuries-old grievances between jinn factions are boiling over rather than offering the safety they sought. Carrying magic inherited from a fallen jinn king and stranded in an unfamiliar world, Loulie becomes entangled with a rebel faction and drawn into a conflict far older than her own quarrel with the sultan. First published in 2025, The Ashfire King belongs to the The Sandsea Trilogy series.
