Synopsis

The Brightest Night is the fifth and final book in the first arc of the Wings of Fire series, told from the perspective of Sunny, the SandWing-NightWing hybrid dragonet among the five raised to fulfill the ancient prophecy. As the dragonets near what they believe is the final stage of their mission to end the long war and place a chosen queen on the SandWing throne, Sunny, the most hopeful of the group, clings to her faith that Sunny's prophecy will resolve the conflict as they were taught. When troubling news upends much of what the dragonets thought they understood about their destiny, Sunny must reconsider what she has believed since hatching, while still pushing to find a path forward that honors what she feels they were meant to achieve.
