Synopsis
Set a decade after the first book, blind street artist Oree Shoth, who possesses the rare ability to see magic, lives in Shadow, the city that has grown up beneath the vast World Tree that now dominates the Arameri realm. She takes in a mysterious glowing figure she names Shiny, unaware at first that he is Itempas, a once-almighty god who has been stripped of his power and bound into human form as punishment for past crimes. When a godling is murdered nearby, suspicion falls on Oree, and matters worsen when Shiny violently defends her, drawing dangerous attention their way.
