Synopsis
The fifth and final novel in Brent Weeks' Lightbringer series follows Gavin Guile, having lost his magic, as he undertakes a dangerous mission where both failure and success carry catastrophic consequences for those he loves. His son Kip must gather his own forces and allies to mount a final stand as the White King springs the traps he has spent the series preparing, and the Chromeria itself is threatened from within by treason as well as from without by siege. With the empire's remaining defenders stretched thin, Gavin and Kip's separate efforts converge as the long conflict between the Chromeria and the White King reaches its climax.
