Synopsis
The fourth installment in Brent Weeks' Lightbringer series is set amid a fracturing empire as the White King's armies continue their advance across the Seven Satrapies. Gavin, the former emperor and Prism, finds himself imprisoned and stripped of his magical powers, cut off from the conflict he once commanded, while his son Kip attempts a desperate effort to halt the White King's forces with whatever resources he can gather. Karris and Teia each face their own struggles to hold the crumbling empire together, Karris navigating the Chromeria's fractured leadership and Teia working through the dangers of her secret training, as the war's momentum increasingly favors the White King's side.
