Synopsis
Royce and Hadrian are a pair of skilled adventurers known together as Riyria, hired for jobs too dangerous or too discreet for ordinary mercenaries. After a successful raid, the duo are hired to steal a sword from the royal palace, but on arriving at the theft location they discover the king's body and are falsely accused of his murder. Forced to flee for their lives, Royce and Hadrian find themselves pulled into a web of political intrigue reaching into the highest levels of the kingdom, with a mysterious prisoner named Esrahaddon offering cryptic aid and hints of magic older than the current order. As they work to clear their names, the pair begin to uncover a conspiracy involving rival claimants to the throne and forces with far larger ambitions than a single murder.
