Synopsis

The Dark Prophecy is the second book in The Trials of Apollo series. Still trapped in the frail mortal body of a teenager named Lester Papadopoulos, Apollo travels across North America with his young mistress Meg McCaffrey and demigods from Camp Half-Blood toward Indianapolis, hoping to reach a dangerous, long-dormant Oracle before the Triumvirate can silence it too. Along the way, Apollo confronts painful reminders of his own history, old debts and relationships from his divine past that complicate the mission. As the group nears Indianapolis, they uncover more of the Triumvirate's ambitions, a coalition of three immortal, ancient Roman emperors intent on severing the gods from every remaining source of prophecy, and Apollo must decide how much pride he can set aside to stop them.

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings and are never conflated: a book's place in one says nothing about its place in the other.
