Synopsis

The Hidden Oracle is the first book in The Trials of Apollo series. As punishment for his role in a conflict among the gods, Zeus strips Apollo of his immortality, casting him down to earth as a scrawny, powerless sixteen-year-old mortal who crash-lands in a New York City alley with no memory of why he was targeted so severely. Found and taken in by Meg McCaffrey, an unassuming young demigod with her own hidden strengths, Apollo is dismayed to discover he must serve as her indentured servant if he hopes to survive as a mortal. Making their way to Camp Half-Blood, the pair learns the camp's Oracle of prophecy has gone silent, one of several Oracles falling under threat, and that a shadowy organization called the Triumvirate Holdings may be behind it, forcing the humbled god to protect what he once took for granted.

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings and are never conflated: a book's place in one says nothing about its place in the other.
