Synopsis
The allied armies of Men, Elves, Dwarves and Warrows gather before the Iron Tower, where Modru plans to use the Myrkenstone during an eclipse to summon his master, Gyphon. A direct assault would be a disaster, so the leaders send a small group led by the Warrow Tuck to enter the fortress by stealth. Meanwhile, Laurelin, held prisoner in the Tower, tries to escape. The book brings together the story threads begun in the earlier volumes and sets the allied host and the dark mage against one another on the day of the eclipse, with the fate of Mithgar at stake.
