Synopsis

After the battle of the Jo-Troom Gate, Jon-Tom’s companions went their separate ways. Now the turtle wizard Clothahump is gravely ill, and Jon-Tom’s spellsinging cannot cure him. The only medicine that can save him lies far away, so Jon-Tom and Mudge the otter set out across dangerous seas to find it, gathering new and unlikely companions on the way: Roseroar, a towering tigress Jon-Tom conjures up by song, a ferret named Jalwar whom they rescue, and Folly, a beautiful young woman they free from bondage. Their road takes them through moors of monstrous fungi, a parrot pirate’s waters and a canyon of cannibal fairies to the evil wizard of Malderpot.
