Synopsis
In the remote village of Emond's Field, a mysterious noblewoman named Moiraine arrives, warning of an impending attack tied to the Dark One's servants. Identifying herself as an Aes Sedai, she reveals that dark forces are seeking one of three young men from the village: Rand al'Thor, Perrin Aybara, and Matrim Cauthon. When Trollocs attack the village soon after, Moiraine and her Warder Lan lead the three young men, along with their friends Egwene and Nynaeve, away from their home and into a dangerous journey across the land. Their path leads toward the Eye of the World, a hidden pool said to hold a seal on the Dark One's prison, with hostile creatures pursuing them the entire way. Underlying the journey is the question of whether one of the three young men might be the prophesied Dragon Reborn.
