Synopsis

In The Faceless Ones, the third book of Derek Landy's series, Valkyrie Cain, Skulduggery Pleasant, and their allies face a new threat from Batu, also known as Patrick Hanratty, and his faction the Diablerie, one of the sorcerer Mevolent's most ruthless former groups. The Diablerie seek the remains of the Grotesquery and Fletcher Renn, a teenage teleporter believed to be the last of his kind, as part of a plan to bring the Faceless Ones back into the world. Fletcher, hunted by multiple factions because of his rare ability, becomes central to the unfolding crisis, while Kenspeckle Grouse, a doctor wary of the pair's methods, reluctantly assists them. Valkyrie and Skulduggery must locate Batu's operation and protect Fletcher before the Diablerie can use him to complete their ritual, as tensions among the sorcerer factions intensify around them.
