Synopsis
It has been a year since Eragon departed Alagaësia in search of the perfect home to train a new generation of Dragon Riders, and he is struggling with an endless sea of tasks: constructing a vast dragonhold, wrangling with suppliers, guarding dragon eggs and dealing with belligerent Urgals and haughty elves. Then a vision from the Eldunarí, unexpected visitors and an Urgal legend offer a much-needed distraction and a new perspective. Three stories are interspersed with Eragon's own unfolding adventure: in The Fork, a rambunctious innkeeper's daughter meets a mysterious traveller whose attempt to broker a deal goes sour; in The Witch, written with Angela Paolini, Eragon learns of the origins of the herbalist Angela through an excerpt from her memoir; and in The Worm, an Urgal seeks to defeat the ancient dragon that slew her father. The first volume of Tales from Alagaësia.
