Synopsis
Han Alister learns that the girl he has grown close to at Oden's Ford is in fact Raisa ana'Marianna, heir to the queendom of the Fells, complicating his feelings toward her just as their paths are about to converge again at court. As Raisa faces repeated threats on her life from enemies determined to stop her coronation and secure the throne for their own candidates, Han must decide how far he is willing to go to protect her, even as old grievances between his family and the crown continue to fester beneath the surface. The mounting danger forces both of them to reconsider where their loyalties, and their futures, truly lie.
