Synopsis
The Green Man's War is the seventh novel in the Green Man series and follows Daniel Mackmain some years into his role resolving conflicts between ordinary people and the supernatural beings of the countryside on behalf of the Green Man. Over the course of the earlier books Dan has built relationships with mythological allies as well as with other humans who can perceive the hidden world, but his repeated interventions have also made him serious enemies. In this installment those adversaries move directly against Dan and the people close to him, forcing him to confront threats that grow out of his own past cases rather than a new supernatural mystery encountered by chance.
