Synopsis
The Halfling's Gem, the third book of the Icewind Dale Trilogy, opens with the halfling Regis held captive in the southern city of Calimport by the assassin Artemis Entreri, who has recovered both Regis and the magical gem he stole from his former employer, the crime lord Pasha Pook. Drizzt Do'Urden and Wulfgar race south to Calimport to free their friend before Pook's vengeance catches up with him, while unbeknownst to them their companion Bruenor, long believed dead, has in fact survived and is making his own way toward them. As the rescuers navigate the dangers of Calimport's underworld and close in on Entreri, the reunited company must contend with both Pook's forces and the assassin himself in order to bring Regis home safely and settle accounts with those who threaten their found family.
