Synopsis

Evenmere is a vast, rambling house that contains many worlds and, in a sense, is the whole of creation. Its clocks and lamps keep the universe running, and its Master is charged with keeping order and defending it from enemies at its gates. Carter Anderson, whose father was the Master, was sent away as a boy after his own childish folly endangered the house. He returns to find his father missing, the regalia of the Master lost and the Society of Anarchists stirring. Guided by the house's servants, and meeting oddities such as a dinosaur that rules the attic, Carter must search the endless rooms to find what was lost, and learn whether he is fit to succeed his father.
