Synopsis
Set largely within the Iron Realm and the Nevernever, this fourth novel in the Iron Fey series shifts focus to Ash, who undertakes a perilous quest to become human so that he can remain at Meghan's side within the Iron Realm without being destroyed by its iron-touched nature. To achieve this, he must find a way to gain a soul, a task that leads him through a series of supernatural trials and encounters testing his resolve and forcing him to confront what it truly means to be human rather than fey. Drawing on old alliances and facing new dangers along the way, Ash's journey runs parallel to the wider conflicts of the faery courts established across the earlier novels, as he works toward a transformation that could finally let him and Meghan share a life together in the Iron Realm.
