Synopsis
In the concluding volume of the Rooks and Ruin trilogy, the Dark Days have returned to the world in the form of two devastating demons, one that cuts mercilessly through villagers and armies alike and another that slowly rots the land it touches. With the Serene Empire and the Witch Lords drifting toward open conflict over how to respond, Ryxander, Warden of Gloamingard, finds herself at the center of the crisis, burdened by conflicting loyalties and lingering guilt over her earlier failure. To have any hope of stopping the destruction, Ryx must return to the black tower at the heart of Gloamingard where the catastrophe first began, confronting the ancient blood magic that originally opened the supernatural door between worlds and searching for a way to close it again.
