Synopsis
The Journey to the Heart of the Abyss, published by Hagar Yanai in 2017, concludes the Leviathan of Babylon trilogy. Jonathan and Ella Margolis, now deeply enmeshed in the mythological Empire of Babylon after the events of the earlier two books, face the trilogy's final reckoning with the forces of Jewish, Babylonian, Sumerian, and Akkadian myth that have shaped their journey from the start. As the priesthood's long effort to contain the Leviathan reaches a critical point, the siblings must draw on everything they have learned about this parallel world, and about themselves, to see the conflict through to its end. The novel closes out a trilogy built on the collision between ordinary modern lives and an ancient mythological order, bringing Jonathan and Ella's long passage between worlds toward its final resolution.
